Privacy Policy

Overview

Dosey is developed by The IT Dept Pty Ltd, based in Sydney, Australia. We built this app with privacy as a core principle: your data never leaves your device.

Data Collection

What We Store Locally

The app stores the following information locally on your device:

• Weight entries and measurements
• Injection/medication logs (date, time, dose, injection site)
• Body measurements (height, starting weight, goal weight)
• Medication preferences and settings
• Reminder preferences

What We Don't Collect or Share

• We do not collect, transmit, or store your health data on external servers
• We do not share your medication, dose, weight, or any health information with third parties
• We have no access to any health information you enter into the app

Product Analytics

To understand how the app is used and where we can improve it, we run our own self-hosted analytics server (Aptabase) on infrastructure operated by The IT Dept Pty Ltd. Your usage events are sent to us directly — not to any third-party analytics or advertising company. The server records only generic usage events such as:

• App opens and backgrounds
• Onboarding started and completed
• A dose was logged (no medication name, dose, or site)
• A daily check-in was completed (no weight value, symptoms, or notes)
• Upgrade screen viewed and subscription purchased (with price)

What Is Never Sent

Your health and medical data is never sent to our analytics server or any third party. This includes:

• Medication names, types, or dosages
• Injection sites or schedules
• Weight or body measurements
• Side effects or symptoms
• Any notes or personal health information

Marketing Attribution

Dosey does not display advertisements to you. This section describes how Meta measures whether the ads we pay for on Facebook — the ones we run to find new users — successfully led to your install. The Facebook (Meta) SDK is embedded in the app for this purpose only.

When you grant tracking permission on iOS (or by default on Android), the SDK may report to Meta:

• Your device's advertising identifier
• The fact that you installed the app, opened it, completed onboarding, viewed the upgrade screen, started a trial, subscribed, or made a purchase
• Purchase amounts and currency for the events above

What Is Never Sent to Facebook

Your health and medical data is never sent to Facebook or any third party. This includes:

• Medication names, types, or dosages
• Injection sites or schedules
• Weight or body measurements
• Side effects or symptoms
• Any notes or personal health information

On iOS, you can decline tracking when prompted, or change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. With tracking disabled, the SDK does not collect your advertising identifier and Apple's privacy-preserving SKAdNetwork is used for install attribution instead.

Data Storage

By default, all data is stored exclusively on your device using local storage. This means:

• Your data remains entirely under your control
• Deleting the app will permanently delete all your data
• We cannot recover your data if you delete the app or lose your device
• We recommend backing up your device regularly through your device's standard backup features

Optional iCloud Sync (iOS)

On iOS devices, you may optionally enable iCloud sync in the app settings. When enabled:

• Your data is synced to your personal iCloud account
• This data is stored in your private iCloud container—we have no access to it
• Sync allows you to restore your data if you switch devices or reinstall the app
• You can disable iCloud sync at any time in the app settings
• iCloud data is protected by Apple's security measures and your Apple ID

Even with iCloud sync enabled, we never have access to your data. The data flows directly between your device and your personal iCloud account.

Notifications

The app may request permission to send local notifications for medication and weight tracking reminders. These notifications are scheduled and triggered entirely on your device. No notification data is sent to us or any third party.

Data Security

Since all data is stored locally on your device, it is protected by your device's built-in security features, including:

• Device passcode/biometric authentication
• Device encryption
• App sandboxing

Subscriptions & Payments

Dosey+ subscriptions are processed entirely through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not collect, process, or store any payment information. All subscription management, billing, and payment processing is handled by Apple or Google according to their respective privacy policies and terms of service.

Children's Privacy

This app is not intended for use by children under 18. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.

Your Rights

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), you have certain rights regarding your personal information. However, since we do not collect, store, or have access to any of your data, these rights are automatically fulfilled—your data is entirely yours and remains on your device.
